Every block on the 2008 quilt has a poignant moment in time when people were drawn together because of lack of things. Building our country into its present chaotic days came with hard work and helping one another.

Our hats go off to those who carried the torch and persevered in fun times and in sad times, through the dark days as well as the light days, so we can indeed, with nostalgia, look on America as a country with "Our Hearts Were Young and Gay" written on the tabloids of our history.
