Herds of deer and elk come to drink at the Uncompahgre River (shown below) which runs through the property. It is located in the heart of the San Juan Mountains in Southwest Colorado, on Highway 550, approximately 1-1/2 hours south of Grand Junction, 40 minutes from Telluride, or 2 hours north of Durango. The view from every window on the front of the house. Piecemakers Ranch is a roomy 4000-square foot home with all the amenities. Will sleep at least 21 and has a full kitchen and laundry facilities. There is a large amount of living area for work space (quiltmaking, etc.) or relaxing. Attached apartment (1200-square feet) also available. Sleeps four to six comfortably. Located on 56 treed acres and since a picture is worth a thousand words we'll let these speak for themselves. Click on any image to enlarge. From the pasture the house looks huge - really, it is 4,000 square feet of cozy! The log cabin style home fits beautifully into the landscape of this piece of God's country. A place for year 'round fun: Winter - skiing, Fall - hunting, Spring - fishing, Summer - hiking, just to name a few!

Walking on the property is all the entertainment anyone could need. This pond houses some of the best trout around. The river that runs through the property is called the Uncompahgre River. Its clear fresh water is matched only by the fresh air and clear skies.

The kitchen is a cook's paradise, with a large dining room where friends and family can gather to eat, talk or just watch the weather. The weather is wonderful... sunny and cold in the winter; sunny, crisp and incredibly colorful in the fall; and sunny with a chance of a brief interlude of thunder and lightning in the spring and summer.

Also, the attached apartment is available to rent with the house or separately. The two bedroom, one bath apartment has a separate entrance, as well as an entrance to the house. The finest feature of the living room is the fireplace which is made from barn wood and river rock found on the property. The kitchen and laundry room are fully equipped.

Reservation Policies: Deposit of 25% is required to secure the reservation.                                     Payment in full is due 30 days in advance.                                     Cancellations must be made 2 weeks in advance for refund. If you are scheduling a class with us we will discuss fees (which would include class instruction plus room and board at the ranch) as we make the overall plans.
