This is a copy of a letter sent to Scott Moxley at the OC Weekly.
WHAT WE DO TO THE LEAST OF OUR BROTHERS
Now that the
can of worms is open and we are all beginning to wonder what kind of a
country we are living in that makes some of us guilty, thrown in
prison, and tortured until dead, for doing the same thing the rest of
the country is doing and calling it a normal way of life.
Now if you
already know what I am about to write, why are you not doing something
drastic about it??
To say we have
a butcher at the head of our government is putting it mildly. The
man is mad with power, deceived into thinking he will stop the very
thing he is guilty of. The world sees Bush and America as the
worst terrorists since the days of the bloodiest dictators that tried
to punish the world into submission while mouthing they are trying to
protect us.
Recently a law
was brought before Congress banning the severe punishment in our
prisons that leads many times to death - death coming as a sweet
deliverance from the hell of terror over the thousands of inmates who
are incarcerated for less crimes than 100% of Washington commits
daily. Bush vetoed it. The evil heart cannot devise
anything worse than comes from our dictator - butcher Bush.
This law would
make water boarding, stripping prisoners naked and throwing them in a
cold cell with no cot, no light, no way to wash for months at a time,
forcing prisoners to perform or mimic sex acts, beating, burning or
physically hurting them in other ways, mock executions, withholding
food, water and medical treatment illegal.
Butcher Bush
vetoes this bill. Can you imagine the law standing behind that
type of treatment making any type of recourse impossible??
Now if we are,
indeed, a Christian nation as butcher Bush professes, and if we have a
government that far surpasses any government in the world that Bush,
with guns and missiles, is trying to convert the world to, pray tell me
why do we not live by the teachings we profess to follow and pray
tell me - with all business people fearful of the Gestapo tactics of
our democracy, and with our prisons bulging with more
people who are a product of this so called ideal society, who needs our
Christianity or our democracy????? Let us take the beam out of
our own eye, and then we shall see clearly to pull out the mote that is
in "thy brother's eye".
This is a
quote. "Some were tortured, others had trial of mockings
and scourgings, yes, and of chains and imprisonment. They were
stoned, they were sawn in two, were tempted, were slain with the
sword. They wandered about homeless, destitute, afflicted,
tormented, of whom the world was not worthy." End of quote.
No, this was not taken from The Register or the New York Times.
It was taken from the book of Hebrews, chapter 11. May the
God of peace have mercy on us all.
