Recently I saw a factual
movie telling the story of Christianity overtaking the world. England
at one time owned one third of the world and was determined to convert
every country using guns and force to do so. They shot the first
"convert".
If that is the gospel — who needs it?
It Ain't the Bible, It's the
Messenger That's Screwed
The Bible
is the most awesome book ever written. Pastors have used it to browbeat
their congregations into submission. Christians have twisted it to
salve their conscience as they slaughtered the black race and made them
slaves. Missionaries have used it to “civilize” the world and make it
twice the place of hell. We have conquered countries, killed men, women
and children all in the name of “Christ”, finding scriptures to back
our greedy little deeds.
We have used it in our
courtrooms to free the guilty and hang the innocent; in our schools to
threaten the kids with hellfire and damnation, and yet hidden within
its pages are the secrets of God's heart. It has hidden within its
pages the roadmap to our freedom, to eternity, to the heaven we all
long for.
Without the Holy Spirit leading and guiding us into all truth; without
the cross putting to death the carnal mind that cannot understand or
comprehend the glorious light of the Gospel, the Bible is a lethal
weapon in the hands of the unregenerate man.
Let us begin with this
scripture: “The heart is wicked and
deceitful above all things.” It does not say some people's
hearts are wicked and deceitful, it says all people's hearts. So our
preachers will point fingers at who they think are sinning when the
fact is until we are completely changed into the likeness of Christ
everything we do is “sinful”.
Another scripture: “All have sinned and fallen short of the
glory of God.” It does not say some, it says all have sinned. It
does not say what you do is sinful, it says who you are is sinful or
half baked. So until the Christ has come to full stature inside of us,
we are all sinners, or another way to say it is we are not whole. That
puts the homosexuals and murderers right along with you and I.
The Bible does not say if you
sin you will go to hell — it says we are born in hell, and Christ came
to change us so we can be one with God and abide in eternity right now
here on earth walking around in these fleshly bodies. Blessed, indeed
are those who see not but still believe. Nobody can change oneself. We
are only called to decrease and humble ourselves under the mighty hand
of God while we are in the cocoon of testing. We cannot “put on the
armor of Christ” — we have to grow into it. We cannot “reckon ourselves
dead”. It is a slow process of “dying daily” while it is your turn to
enter into that metamorphic crucible. The cross is, indeed, a stumbling
block as we try so hard to do the “right” thing when the fact is we
would create the old pattern all over again.
The Bible never says if
we are good we will go to heaven or even that heaven is a place to go
to, but rather heaven is within us and is joy, peace and righteousness
in the Holy Spirit.
Our blind leaders have
not a clue that there is nothing good in man to save — that indeed, we
are born as a seed that must fall into the ground and die or we will
never become complete, whole, or saved.
I could go on and on
but let us just close with this thought, like our Constitution, the
Bible is an awesome worthless, dangerous document of no value unless
put to the use for which it was, indeed, written.
