We are now in a battle with our local fire department. For years, we would be "inspected" by the fire department. Their petty regulations, which were selectively enforced, were useless. So, we have decided to stand on our constitutional rights of privacy and security against unreasonable searches, and not let them inspect.
On August 13, 1997, the Fire Marshall, various city inspectors, assorted firemen, at least 6 police officers, and other personnel did a forced inspection and videotape of our warehouse. A week later we were cited and told we had 30 days to conform.
Here is a news article that was pretty good. Also, we've include a letter to the editor published the following week which we enjoyed.
As usual, it all boils down to power. The government wants to have power over us and our lives. We have said no. Somewhere along the line, we've lost the simplicity of life that comes with God being the head and replaced it with a lifeless government bureaucracy intent on putting small businesses out of business. It's simply not right.
We will keep you informed of what happens.
